Why didn’t my accountant tell me I qualify for so much money?

We have the experience necessary to successfully work with the CRA on disability claims. Accountants simply do not specialize in disability claims – we do!

What about my doctor, how come he never told me I qualify?

Doctors are there to help you physically – finances and taxes are not their area of expertise.

Will I have to pay taxes on the money I receive?

No. The money received from a DTC reassessment is non-taxable.

Can I apply for a family member?

Yes, and if the person with the disability does not have sufficient income to qualify for the full amount then you can receive the credits directly.

If the person with the disability is deceased, can a family member still apply for the money?

Yes. As long as the person has not been deceased longer than ten years.

If I do not get accepted for the Disability Tax Credit or I didn’t receive any money, how much do I owe M.D. Reis & Company?

Nothing at all.

When will I receive my money?

Once a claim request is submitted to the CRA, it can take anywhere from 3-6 months.
